School Cinema International Film Festival

14th - 30th November, 2026

Launched in 2017, SCIFF is a pioneering film festival hosted by schools, in schools. It’s not just a festival — it’s a movement that brings the world of cinema into classrooms, giving young minds the chance to WATCH acclaimed international students’s films, LEARN the craft of filmmaking, and MAKE powerful short films of their own.

Join the SCIFF 2026 Pre-Selection Panel

As we prepare for the 10th edition of the School Cinema International Film Festival (SCIFF 2026), we're inviting filmmakers, writers, animators, critics, media professionals and passionate storytellers to join our Pre-Selection team.

Every year, SCIFF receives over 1,000 films from across the world, and our panel helps identify the stories that will eventually reach young audiences.

What's involved?

  • Reviewing assigned films using SCIFF's evaluation framework

  •  Fully remote, from June to August 2026

  • Around 4–6 hours of film viewing per wee

Members of the panel will receive an official Certificate of Curation from SCIFF and be credited in the festival catalogue and on the SCIFF website.

If you care about storytelling and would like to help shape meaningful cinema for children and young people, we'd love to have you on board.

To apply, scan the QR code and fill the form.
Last date for applications: 25 June 2026.

Selected candidates will be contacted by the SCIFF Programming Team with further details regarding orientation and onboarding to the SCIFF 2026 Pre-Selection Panel.

LEARN Cinema

SCIFF takes students behind the scenes of filmmaking with expert-led workshops and masterclasses — divided into scriptwriting, cinematography, sound, and editing. Designed to fit school timetables, LEARN Cinema builds creativity, media literacy, and storytelling skills — making film education accessible, hands-on, and inspiring. Our online masterclasses ensure students from even the most remote regions can participate.

MAKE Cinema

MAKE Cinema is a unique filmmaking competition where students explore and express their creativity through film. From scripting to shooting and editing, they bring ideas to life — turning imagination into powerful stories. Winning student filmmakers are invited to serve as youth jury members at the next edition of SCIFF.

I think this is such a wonderful initiative. My kids were introduced to it about a year and a half ago when they were part of the jury, and it was the most wonderful homework they’ve ever done. Until then, cinema for them only meant the films shown in big theaters — they had never experienced it any other way. But with a festival like this, they were exposed to world cinema at such an early age, which I think is incredible. It really opens up their creative minds. Honestly, I’m a little jealous of all these students!
